Prairie Side Ace Hardware

I bought a snow blower from this Ace location and I was blown away with how friendly and helpful everyone was. Every. Single. Person. The best part: they delivered the snow blower to my house free of charge and even put it together before bringing it. Also, the store itself is really nice and it’s small compared to the monster hardware stores, so you can navigate it quickly.

Please consider your return policy. I would believe I am not that much different than the average guy where I pickup a few more things than I need and then find out I need something else. I brought some 3/4 black pipe fittings back just so I could get a store credit. Still in wrapper still in the small Ace Hardware bag. I was advised too bad . Not within 30 days and no receipt. I was going to go directly back to plumbing to get the other pc’s I needed so I just asked for store credit thinking no big deal. In a little haste I advised the clerk I will go to Menards to get what I then if I can’t return these. She advised Good for you. Not exactly the friendly corner store policy.

This was the first time I had been in this new Ace Hardware. I needed some screws, washers, and Gorilla tape. WOW! It has everything you could possibly want when it comes to hardware. It is convenient to my office. And… great customer service. The lady at the cash register was super friendly. She signed me up for the Ace Rewards program…. and answered all my questions. I can’t wait for a reason to go back. I may go back just because it was fun.

This place is the definition of a 3 star review in my experiences that I have had the past couple of years. There are times that I have been blown away by the service I received and then there have been experiences that kept me from going for a while. Good experience I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for and didn't describe it very well but ended up walking out with exactly what I needed for my project. She listened really well and not only understood what I needed but very patient with me walking in different places showing me different options Not so great experience Went to the store to get a shovel and took one to the register. There were multiples of this type of shovel in the rack but apparently the price didn't match what I ended up paying. Before I walked out I reviewed the receipt and told them I needed to return that one and get another one because I thought the price was lower. No problem yet, walked back and found another shovel that the price apparently matched up with but a manager would have to take care of the return. Enter the problem....I used a rewards member coupon when I bought the first shovel. The manager says that I already used the coupon so I couldn't use it again. I explained that the price didn't match to which I was told that I could return it but I couldn't use my coupon again. The manager said he would "eat" the $5 but was obviously very upset about it all & made it seem like it was my fault. I wouldn't say it was a bad experience because it ended up getting solved without a bunch of hassle, but it was enough to put me off for a while. Bottom line, this is a good store to go to if you want to shop small business (which I love) and go in to get what you need. The people there are knowledgeable from what I've seen & they give you some awesome service at times. Pretty much my go to store for all the basics when it comes to small stuff but if you need the bigger stuff you may have to go to Lowe's, Menards or Harbor Freight. I come here often so that I don't have to go to the huge stores only to get a couple of screws or something.

A hardware store with a neighborhood vibe but large enough to accommodate your needs for many DIY type household repair projects. The staff is experienced enough to provide helpful advice and ideas. Full service paint department. Equipment rental, servicing and repairs. Comprehensive locksmith service, too. If you can't find something, just ask the staff. You can order stuff online, as well, and pick it up curbside.
